Goals
The assignment had the following criteria:
• Create a booklet of 6 spreads (12 pages), printed duplex and featuring at least four fold-outs
• Use the required copy and photos
• Creatively integrate type and image, using a defined grid structure and proper use of bleeds and styles

Design Process
I created a folding dummy, marking where the spine should be and which spread each page should print on. I digitized this template and started treating the type, experimenting to figure out which articles fit which spreads. I created paragraph and character styles that seemed appropriate for the content. From there I created a few grid layouts/recurring motifs for headlines, photo collages, and type.
